The Israeli Jewish Congress (IJC) is deeply saddened and heartbroken at the news that last evening, an Israeli man, Raziel Shevach (z’l), was murdered in a brutal drive-by shooting by a Palestinian terrorist near Havat Gilad.
Raziel Shevach was 35 years old. He was a Rabbi, a man of faith. He was a volunteer EMT (Medic with Magen David Adom), helping save lives of both Jews and Arabs.
Raziel was also a husband and father of 6 CHILDREN, aged from 8 month to 11 years old. Today, a wife is widowed and 6 children orphaned, as another beautiful Jewish soul is taken from our world by these savages.
Raziel was described as a ‘unique, kindhearted man’, with friends and family alike saying ‘all who knew him loved him, and loved him deeply’.
Our thoughts and prayers at this moment go out to Raziel’s family, as all the people of Israel join in mourning. We have no doubt the Israeli security services will find the perpetrator/s in due course and bring those responsible to justice!
May Raziel’s memory be blessed and his family be comforted with the mourners of Zion. Baruch Dayan Emet.
