Statement by IJC President Vladimir Sloutsker on New York Terror Attack
The Israeli-Jewish Congress (IJC) is appalled at the horrific terror attack in New York, in which a radical Islamic terrorist murdered 8 people.
First and foremost, our most heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to the victims’ families, as we mourn those tragically killed and wish for full and speedy recoveries to the injured.
This was a senseless and cowardly act of unmitigated evil that must be unequivocally and vociferously condemned by all.
At this difficult moment, we also convey our unwavering support, solidarity and absolute unity with the people of New York, who like Israelis, display incredible strength and resolve in the face of such terror by those who would seek to assault the very values of life, freedom and democracy, that we hold so sacrosanct.
Just as the United States, our greatest ally, has always stood with Israel during our times of need, so too will Israel, and the IJC, stand – unflinchingly – shoulder to should with the United States in the war on global Islamic terror.
Today, our hearts are with the people of New York and the United States.
