Yom Hazikaron – Israel’s Fallen Soldiers and Victims of Terrorism Remembrance Day
On the eve of Yom Hazikaron 5772, the Israeli Jewish Congress bows its head and shares the sorrow of the families of the 22,993 fallen Israeli Soldiers and 2,477 victims of terrorism.
We shed tears today for the loss of lives of those heroes who served as the shield of our People and were taken from us before their time, those who with their lives allow for our continuing survival.
The legacy of the fallen will be our guiding light, a legacy filled with valor and determination which gives us courage to face the future, to enable us to continue building and creating, inventing and developing and to believe in the peace that will arrive.
We will remain vigilant as we continue building a democratic society which perpetuates the sanctity of the values in whose name our daughters and sons went on their last mission.
May the Memory of the Fallen be forever engraved in our hearts.
