IJC participates in solidarity delegation to the south of Israel
The Israeli-Jewish Congress (IJC) was honoured to join a delegation led by Israel’s Ministry of Strategic Affairs, headed by Minister Gilad Erdan, on a field visit to the south of Israel, where we witnessed first hand the devastating damage from the Hamas terror fires (which have scorched over 7,500 acres of land), received high-level briefing from the IDF regarding the security situation in the south and saw first-hand one of the Hamas terror tunnels.
In addition, we also met with representatives from Israel Nature and Park Authority, as well as Fire Department, to hear how they are dealing with these terror fires by Hamas, including having to put out some of these fires under sniper attack.
In one of the most moving experiences of the trip however, we also visited a Kibbutz on the border with Gaza, which has had to cope with incessant threat of terror, including rockets and now kites, and where the incredibly brave children in their kindergarten reenacted to us what they do during a Tzeva Adom (siren).
It is imperative to expose the truth and stress that Hamas, a ruthless internationally recognized terror organization, remains the main impediment to peace between Israelis and Palestinians. We must #FreeGazaFromHamas in order to have hope for a better future for both peoples!
