United States recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Israel

Vladimir Sloutsker, President & Co-Founder of The Israeli-Jewish Congress (IJC):
Jerusalem always was, is and shall remain the capital of the State of Israel and the heartbeat of the Jewish people.
We acknowledge this historic step by the United States in officially recognizing Jerusalem as the rightful capital of the State of Israel and hope that such recognition will be followed by other countries, leading to peace, greater cooperation and mutual understanding in the Middle East”
