The Israeli Jewish Congress (IJC) Statement on Barcelona Terror Attack
The Israeli-Jewish Congress is deeply saddened at the horrific terror attack in Barcelona this evening, in which terrorists drove a vehicle into a crowd of pedestrians in the iconic Las Ramblas boulevard.
As of present, at least 13 people have been confirmed killed, with scores more injured, many in critical condition.
First and foremost, our thoughts, heart and prayers go out to all the victims, as we mourn the dead and pray for the full and speedy recovery of all those injured.
We also take this opportunity to reiterate our full, unconditional and complete support to the people of Spain and the Jewish community of Barcelona, during this most difficult period.
This wave of vehicular car ramming terror attacks we are seeing across Europe now was pioneered by Palestinian terrorists in Israel, who have killed dozens of people in similar attacks here since 2015. Today, jihadists are copying and exporting this murderous methodology across Europe.
Whether it’s Barcelona, Nice, London, Berlin, Stockholm of Jerusalem, terror is terror is terror, and the West must stand united, in unwavering solidarity and commitment if we are to defeat it global evil.
