Israeli-Jewish Congress strongly condemns decision of the Council of Europe to pass a resolution against circumcision
Michel Gourary, CEO of The Israeli-Jewish Congress is quoted in The Jerusalem Post on the decision this week by the Council of Europe to pass a resolution against circumcision in Europe:
“The Israeli-Jewish Congress strongly condemns the decision of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe to pass the anti-circumcision resolution. We are particularly concerned at the domino effect this will have, in light of previous decisions across Europe, including attempts to ban kosher ritual slaughter, as an attack on the very essence of Jewish life in Europe. We will continue to work with Parliamentarians and Jewish communities across Europe to ensure this proposal is not implemented in member states.”
