The IJC – Israeli Jewish Congress International Forum 2013
The Israeli-Jewish Congress is honored and pleased to announce that, on Wednesday 17th April 2013, we will be holding a special International Forum in Tel Aviv, to mark Israel’s 65th Independence Day.
The aim of this Forum is to facilitate the discussion and exchange of ideas by global Jewish leaders on how to build a stronger connection between the State of Israel and the Diaspora, especially in Europe, and how to strengthen Jewish identity and education throughout the European communities.
The Forum will be officially opened by Member of Knesset and Cabinet Minister Silvan Shalom, and will be attended by leaders of over 15 Jewish communities in Europe, student activists and leaders from the Zionist community in Israel.
The Forum will consist of 2 panels, which will focus on the following themes:
- Challenges of anti-Semitism and delegitimization of Israel in Europe; and
- Building and strengthening the next generation of Jewish leaders and Jewish identity & education – principles and guidelines according to the needs of different communities.
The panels will include distinguished speakers from Israel, including: Amb. Alan Baker, Danny Ayalon, Prof. Robert Wistrich, Tal Brody, Prof. Sergio DellaPergola, Michelle Rojas-Tal and Gideon Meir, and from Europe: Richard Prasquier (France), David Saltiel (Greece), Riccardo Pacifici (Italy), Raphael Cohen (Spain), Emanuel Zingeris (Member of Lithuanian Parliament) and other distinguished leaders.
In addition, while in Israel, the leaders of the European Jewish Communities, who have been brought to Israel especially at the invitation of the IJC, will also hold high-level meetings with senior Israel officials, including a special reception with President Shimon Peres and attend the official State ceremonies for Yom Hazikaron and Yom Ha’atzmaut.
Places for the Forum are extremely limited, so please contact our office (+972 –3 – 6444688 or email@example.com) as soon as possible.
We hope to welcome you to our Forum and help celebrate Israel’s 65th Year of Independence.
